Super Mario Bros McDonalds toys 2023 happy meal are the toy giveaway at McDonalds until the end of January. You can pick up one of eight different Super Mario Bros Movie toys in your happy meal as a result of yet another co-promotion between Nintendo and McDonalds.

Super Mario Bros McDonalds Toys Happy Meal Details

The McDonalds Super Mario toys promotion in happy meals started just after Christmas on December 27, 2022. The movie will not be out in theaters for a couple of months and is expected to be released in April 2023.

There has been a lot of jubilation on social media because these McDonalds Mario toys are plastic rather than the paper versions promoted in the UK and Europe. Even better is that this set is excellent on display. Each toy has a different gimmick like spinning limbs which is pretty cool although perhaps previous promotions had better gimmicks overall. Mario McDonalds toys included in the set are:

1. Jumping Mario
   Mario jumps up and down by pressing on his head.


2. Toad Kart
   Push and go car that can move forward and backwards.


3. Flashlight Luigi
   Control movement of waist left to right via the lever on the back of the toy.


4. Spinning Peach
   Spin Peach around on flat surface.


5. Mario Kart
   Mario's Kart is a push and go toy that moves when rolled along.


6. Barrel Donkey Kong
   Turn the wheel to rotate his free arm 360 degrees.


7. Fire Breathing Bowser
   Turn flames in Bowser's mouth by turning button on back.


8. Spinning Lumalee
   Rotates on base 360 degrees when wheel on side is turned.

The Mario McDonalds toys 2023 come in clear numbered bags so you can easily see what you are getting. The Mario happy meal box has Mario on the front with a side panel view of Mario World featuring Luigi, Lumalee and Bowser.

There are a couple of Super Mario Brothers activity sheets on offer by McDonalds during the promotion period including coloring, a maze activity and a connect the dots activity. Download these sheets in PDF format for free.

Super Mario Bros McDonalds Toys 2023 International Promotion

Some other countries had these same toys including Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Japan. In the UK, Europe and Australia cardboard Super Mario McDonalds toys were distributed in place of plastic ones.

Are the Super Mario 2023 McDonalds Toys Worth Buying?

To be fair the gimmicks on these toys lack ingenuity but will still keep kids temporarily occupied. The finish on the toys is nice though and as mentioned earlier they display well. As it may be the last time ever that McDonalds have plastic Super Mario Bros McDonalds Toys they are worth having in your McDonald's collection for that reason alone.

McDonalds Mario Kart Toys 2022

McDonald's Mario Kart Toys 2022 were the free toy giveaway in happy meals at McDonalds in the USA beginning March 8, 2022. Outside of the US the Encanto toys were promoted in Mexico, Latin America and South America. There are 8 Mario Kart happy meal toys to collect in the full set, each representing characters from the Nintendo Mario Kart racing game.

McDonald's Mario Kart Toys 2022 (March 8 - April 5, 2022)

The McDonalds Mario happy meal toys 2022 are a re-release of the original promotion of Mario Kart 8 McDonalds toys back in 2014 (and 2015 in some countries). This new set is basically the same as the one in 2014 except that Mario's red visor has been dropped from the line-up with the inclusion of Toadette.

The release of the Mario Kart Deluxe toys by McDonalds is a partnership with Nintendo who recently released the Mario 8 Kart Deluxe version of the game. The release of the new McDonalds Mario Kart toys was, strategically, just two days before the fan day that Nintendo runs on March 10.

The McDonald's Mario toys are simple plastic representations of the Mario Kart characters sitting in or on their respective hover vehicles. Most you can only slide across a smooth service apart from Yoshi who is on wheels. The detail is good though so they look pretty good on display.

Each Mario happy meal toy comes with a set of character-themed stickers with classic designs like M for Mario and DK for Donkey Kong to decorate the vehicles. The 2022 stickers have been updated and are not identical to the 2014 ones.

As usual during a happy meal promotion McDonalds also provided kids with Mario-related activities to download from the website. Two Mario sheets to color were available to downloaded for free.

McDonalds Mario Kart 2022 Activities

Some other countries had the McDonalds Mario Kart toys 2022 too. I am still researching what Latin American and South American countries go these in their happy meals (#cajita feliz). Please leave a comment if you know your country got these toys. That would really help me out.

The McDonalds Mario Kart set was an interesting choice to bring back. I would have preferred that they did something new with the characters rather than recycle the old ones. McDonalds may have decided to promote them as a swansong to plastic toys which are being phased out. Who knows?

McDonalds Super Mario Toys 2017

McDonalds Super Mario Toys 2017 based on the Nintendo Super Mario video games were a wildly popular promotion in happy meals in the US in April and May 2017. Super Mario toys were distributed worldwide by McDonalds in happy meal toy promotions that ran simultaneously throughout 2017 and early 2018 depending on location. Set size varies regionally but in the US there were 8 Super Mario McDonalds toys to collect.

The 8 McDonalds Super Mario happy meal toys 2017 are hard plastic and feature all your favorite characters from the Super Mario video game world including Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Princess Peach and Yoshi.



The Super Mario toys have a glossy finish to them that makes them pretty appealing to look at and to collect. Each has a fun gimmick and a couple of the toys even have sound. The Mario toys look great on display by the way if you are thinking of adding them to your collection.



The 8 McDonald's Super Mario Toys 2017 released in USA in this happy meal toy set are:

1. Jumping Mario
   Turn on the switch on the bottom of Mario and bounce him around to hear sound effects from the video game.


2. Yoshi
   Push the red button on his saddle to see Yoshi's tongue extend and retract.


3. Luigi Launcher
   Comes with yellow warp pipe that he can be removed from. Push the lever on the pipe to fire Luigi. He springs out quickly and travels in a straight line.


4. 1-Up Mushroom
   Similar to Mario toy. Push the button on the base and hear the sound that 1-Up makes in the Super Mario 3D Land game


5. Invincible Mario
   Activated by switch on the base. Turn off the lights and see Mario's torso area light up with different colors (green, red purple and blue). The pulse light starts slowly and gradually becomes faster.


6. Bowser
   Two red missiles representing fire come with him. Insert a missile into his mouth and push the button on his rear to fire the projectile.


7. Princess Peach
   Comes on a green stand with a lenticular background that moves depending on how you hold the toy. (Coins and plant are move). Peach is a push and roll toy. She spins around as she is rolled along.


8. Koopa Shell
   Wind up by pulling back and then letting Koopa go. Moves in more or less a straight direction.

McDonalds Super Mario Toys 2017 - International Promotions

As mentioned earlier McDonalds Super Mario toys was a global promotion. If you are thinking of buying your Super Mario set from Asia or South America then be aware that the toys will be slightly different.

Only 6 out of 8 toys in Spanish speaking countries of Latin America and South America are in common with the USA version. (1-up is swapped for connecting blocks and there is a Waving Mario rather than Jumping Mario included) in the line-up. (#cajita feliz and #mclanche feliz)

Canada and Australia have all the same toys except for the Mario. Their sets have 12 Super Mario toys instead of 8 toys and include:

• Gooba climbing up a wall
• Piranha plant that snaps open and shut
• Fire Luigi with punching action
• Super Mario connecting blocks


Plus

The Jumping Mario toy is substituted for Waving Mario who sits on a brick wall.

If you can get hold of them then I suggest go with the Canadian set and get the extra toys rather but you would still have to buy a Jumping Mario in the USA to have all the US toys.



If you missed these cool McDonalds Super Mario toys don't worry they are pretty easy to buy on EBay still but as stated earlier take care when you buy from overseas as the Mario will be different and maybe a couple of other toys too.
