McDonalds FurReal Friends and El Tigre Toys 2008 Happy Meal

McDonalds FurReal Friends were included in happy meals during January and February 2008 along with El Tigre happy meal toys. The set includes four El Tigre happy meal toys and four FurReal toys. The El Tigre toys are based on Nickelodeon animated TV series about Manny Rivera, a 12 year old superhero while FurReal is a toybrand division of Hasbro.

McDonalds FurReal Friends

McDonalds FurReal Friends set is a targeted happy meal option for girls. The set of four includes cute plush animals with an accessory attached. At the time McDonalds guests could visit the website and create an adoption certificate for their FurReal Friends pet.

Included in the 2008 McDonalds FurReal Friends set are:

1. Bear with Bottle Accessory - Upright brown bear with pinky red bottle accessory attached.
   


2. Puppy with a Bone Accessory - Brown puppy with yellow bone.
   
   


3. Kitten with Bottle Accesssory - Black and white cat with light purple bottle accessory.
   


4. Bunny with Carrot Accessory - White bunny with orange carrot with green top.
   

Note: In Brazil the toys are similar but not identical. The kitten (Gatinho) is gray and the bear (Ursinho Panda) is a panda bear with a blue bottle accessory instead. The dog (Cachorrinho) has a red bone instead of yellow one. The rabbit (Coelhinho) appears to be identical.

El Tigre McDonalds Toys 2008

El Tigre is a four piece toy set that features El Tigre and other cast of the animated series. Each toy has a pretty fun gimmick with the hat missile launcher Señor Siniestro and Grandpapi spinning hat the two standout toys. The McDonald's toys were on promotion from January 18 to February 14, 2008.

1. El Tigre - Action figure with brown boots and red bandana. T on his forehead.
   
   Push the lever on the back to activate the spinning claw hand.


2. White Pantera - Action figure wearing white shirt, black pants, yellow boots. Red head.
   
   Move right arm to activate kick action of right leg.


3. Señor Siniestro - Action figure in black outfit. Wears two bandoliers of bullets with an x in the middle as per Mexican bandit. Red head with a flat top
   
   Detachable hat accessory which when inserted becomes a missile launched by pressing the skull on his back. Legs have articulation.


4. Grandpapi - Wears yellow Mexican hat (sombrero) with one legged green bird Señor Chapi sitting on it.
   
   Press button on back of toy to make his hat spin around.

McDonalds El Tigre and FurReal Friends Happy Meal Bag

There is a specially themed happy meal bag from 2008 for the El Tigre and FurReal promotion. One one side are graphics from the El Tigre TV series with the Adventures of Manny Rivera highlighted. Also hightlighted are "Bienvenedos! Welcome to Miracle City. I am El Tigre. Beware my claws of silver! Can you find my churros? They are delicious."

On the reverse side of the McDonalds bag is FurReal Friends featuring Kitty which has an unravel Kitty's ball of wool challenge. Fun animal facts about collective names for animals are included with a did you know section. Bears - sleuth, : rabbits - colony, dogs - pack, and cats - clowder.

El Tigre and FurReal Friends is the first promotion of 2008. The promotion falls between Lego Bionicle and Strawberry Shortcake in December 2007 and January 2008 and The Spiderwick Chronicles in February and March 2008. If you want El Tigre or the McDonalds FurReal Friends for your happy meal collection you can still buy these on eBay.
