Mickey and Friends Happy Meal Toys 2023 at McDonalds

Mickey and Friends happy meal toys 2023 are on promotion at McDonald's currently. During January and February 2023 you can snag one of six different McDonalds Mickey and Friends toys 2023 at participating McDonald's restaurants in the US. Each toy contains either themed cards or a giant size poster featuring a Walt Disney Mickey and Friends character.

The Mickey and Friends happy meal toys 2023 promotion runs from January 31 to February 20, 2023 and offers six variations to choose from. Depending on which number in the set you choose you will get either a giant poster to color and activities to complete like maze puzzles and spot the difference. Also in the set are colorful Mickey and Friends cards to play fun games with like a matching game and a clap game (a variation of snap).

The full set of McDonalds Mickey and Friends toys 2023 includes:

1. Mickey at Magic Kingdom Park Poster
   Side A Poster and Side B Maze Activity, Decorate Backpack with Supplied Sticker Set, Mickey and Friends Trivia Questions. Colored pencil also enclosed.


2. Mickey and Minnie at EPCOT Poster
   Side A Poster and Side B Sticker Dress Up Activity (colored pencil and stickers included), Connect the Dots, Color Mickey Activity.


3. Mickey and Friends at Disney's Hollywood Studios Poster
   Side A Poster and Side B Color and Sticker Activity (sticker sheet and colored pencil included), Finish the Picture Activity, Spot the Difference Activity.


4. Go Mickey Playing Cards
   Disney themed cards. Instructions on how to play the game are included. The object is to be the player with the most sets of 4.


5. Clap Game Cards
   Cute cards featuring Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck etc. Instructions on how to play the Clap game are included. To win be the last player remaining with cards.


6. Memory Game Cards
   A matching game. Cards feature Mickey, Goofy and the rest of the gang. Instructions supplied. The player with the most pairs wins.

The McDonald's Mickey and Friends toys 2023 were released in themed and numbered cardboard boxes. The dedicated happy meal box for the promotion features Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald on the front. On the box is a game to find the 10 hidden Mickey's.

Mickey and Friends Happy Meal 2023 International Promotion

To my knowledge Mickey and Friends McDonalds toys were pretty much restricted to the USA although there may have been some distribution of this set in the Caribbean around the same time.

McDonalds have done a number of collaborations with Disney recently to bring Disneyland characters to life for the next generation to enjoy. For instance we had Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway toys in May and June 2022 and in 2021 50 Disney themed happy meal toys for the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary were released.

In terms of timeline Mickey and Friends McDonalds toys follows on from the Super Mario Bros Movie toys promotion in December 2022 and January 2023.

McDonalds Disney 50th Toys Anniversary Happy Meals for 2022

McDonalds Disney 50th toys were re-released in happy meals in the US in May 2022 after the original 2020 McDonalds Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway promotional toys were pulled 18 months ago. The latest set has 8 McDonalds 50th anniversary Disney toys compared to the first set issue that had 10 toys. The happy meal toys feature Mickey Mouse and Friends at WDW Florida and is another collaboration between McDonalds and Disney to commemorate the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary.

The McDonalds Disney 50th toys for 2022 feature Mickey Mouse and friends on various rides and attractions available at Walt Disney World, Florida. These are plastic toys and look great on display especially when grouped with other previous McDonald's Disney toys featuring Mickey Mouse.

This fun set comprises 8 of the original 10 McDonalds WDW Anniversary Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway toys 2020. The two toys that have been dropped from the original line-up are:

#6: Mickey Mouse at the Hollywood Tower Hotel
#7: Minnie Mouse at the Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction

Make sure you check your McDonald's toys in this set as some have special gold accents that make them super special and collectible. For example with the Goofy toy there is the regular version and the gold hat version so keep an eye out for these.

On the underside of the toy you will see that it is stamped with the attraction name eg "Runaway Railway" or "Mad Tea Party" etc. Each of the toys has a hook at the rear to join it together with others from the set. When connected up the toys form a train that can be pushed along.

The full set of McDonalds Disney 50th toys were released in the following order in 2022:

• 1. Goofy at Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway
  Blue and red train (bluish-green hat, some may be gold)


• 2. Mickey at the Mission Space Attraction
  Mickey is seated in a gray rocket ship.


• 3. Minnie Mouse at the Dinosaur Attraction
  Drives a yellow car with a blue dino in the back.


• 4. Pluto at the Jungle Cruise Attraction
  Pluto in a boat that has a detachable hippopotamus on a blue base underneath which moves up and down when pushed along.


• 5. Goofy at the Expedition Everest Attraction
  Goofy has a yeti looking monster coming out of the mountain seated behind him.


• 8. Donald Duck at the Mad Tea Party
  Pink and purple tea cup that goes around and around. Donald is seated inside and his eyes are from the spinning.


• 9. Daisy Duck at Soarin' Around The World Attraction
  Daisy sits in a blue carriage seat attached to a globe which spins around.


• 10. Mickey Mouse and Minnie's Runaway Railway
  Mickey is driving a red car and Minnie is in the passenger seat beside him. They bob up and down slightly when rolled along.

McDonalds Disney World Happy Meal Box and Packaging 2022

The front of the McDonald's Disney World Anniversary happy meal box features a large picture of Mickey and Minnie in the now iconic red car with the rest of the characters in the line-up following along in a train layout. The WDW 50th Anniversary logo features prominently at the centre of the top panel. On one side panel is the slogan for the promotion "Enjoy the magic of sharing" while the other side panel has the text "celebrate with delicious apple slices."

Toys in the set come in clear plastic bags that retain the original 2020 numbering. Bags have red highlighting.

Disney World McDonalds Activity Sheets

The Activity Sheets with this promotion include a Mickey and Minnie maze and a "Who said what" activity. These can be downloaded free from the happy meal website during the promotion.

McDonalds 50th Anniversary Disney Toys (Happy Meals Around the World)

To my knowledge these McDonalds toys for 2022 were not re-released elsewhere apart from the US. The original McDonald's Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway toys 2020 were also available in Latin American countries such as Argentina, Brazil and Peru.


The McDonalds Disney 50th toys​ fell between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Buzz Lightyear in 2022. If you missed out on any of these collections don't despair you can still pick them up on eBay in most cases. I am yet to see the rare gold accent toys but who knows what you might find if you go looking?

McDonalds Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway set was available in the happy meal toy promotion in the US during November and December 2020. What better way to showcase Walt Disney World attractions than to have a Disney happy meal toy promotion featuring iconic Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto enjoying the rides.

How Many Toys Does the McDonalds Runaway Railway Have?

There are 10 plastic McDonalds Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway happy meal toys in the full US set. All these vehicle toys can be joined together to form a train via a special tow bar on the back of each toy making them great for display. The line-up includes: one each of Pluto, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck plus one of Mickey and Minnie together and then two Goofy, two Minnie Mouse and two Mickey Mouse toys.

McDonalds had a special Walt Disney World Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway Happy Meal Box for the promotion featuring Mickey and Minnie riding the Runaway Railway Attraction at WDW. On one side of the box is a Zany Railway game and on the other a parade of the happy meal toys included in this collection.

The McDonalds Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway promotion was slated to run from November 17 – December 14, 2020. However, due a problem with QR codes on the game pieces that came with the toys distribution was halted. Generic toys were substituted for the remainder of the promotion.

McDonalds Runaway Railway Toys set was only promoted in the first couple of weeks in 2020 before the promotion was pulled. Minnie at the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and Mickey Mouse at Hollywood Tower Hotel are the happy meal toys that were not released in the 2022 McDonalds Disney toys promotion and are, therefore, not so common. If you want to have the full set of 10 McDonalds Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway toys you will need to buy these two toys on sites like eBay or Etsy.
