Some toy collectors and manga fans have been waiting a long time I know for McDonalds to release Astro Boy happy meal toys. (The last McDonalds Astro Boy set was released in 2004 and included: Astro Magnetic Action, Astro in Orbit, Fire Away, and Circuit Astro).

This new set of McDonalds Astro Boy character figures which includes 3 unique Astro Boy figures and 2 Astro Boy action figures Zog and Trashcan does not disappoint. And with the super villian Peacekeeper figure making up the set hours of imaginative play can be had by all, big and small. The character-themed toys are based on Astro Boy, a young robot hero from the popular Japanese Anime series and are part of a McDonalds movie tie-in deal. The Astro Boy movie, a 3D computer-animated film, opened throughout North America on 23 October 2009 and coincides with the release of the McDonalds happy meal toys.

Burger King Toys Spongebob Truth or Square

Burger King have just released 8 kids meal toys featuring the Nickelodeon Spongebob characters from the Spongebob's Truth or Square TV movie. One Burger King Spongebob Squarepants toy will be given away over the next four weeks with every Burger King kids meal sold as part of a toy tie-in promotion for the movie due for release on November 6.

It is not surprising that McDonalds have released these Bakugan toys given the popularity of Bakugan toys throughout North America right now. The Bakugan game concept, based on the Japanese action adventure anime TV series, combines skill and strategy with action and competitive game-play and offers collectible character figures, battle balls and trading cards.

The McDonalds set of Bakugan toys is made up of 3 transforming Bakugan balls, 3 action figures and 18 exclusive trading cards.


The Bakugan balls are small round spheres that pop open into Bakugan monsters when a button is depressed. There are 3 transforming Bakugan battle balls in this McDonalds set each coming in 4 different colors.

McDonalds have also released 3 Bakugan collectible action figures of the most popular characters from the series - Dragonoid, Hydranoid and Preyas.

Along with both the Bakugan battle balls and the action figures are 18 exclusive to McDonalds Bakugan trading cards that can be played in the retail game. One card comes with each McDonalds Bakugan toy.

This is a great set if you are into action figures and game play but with only 3 weeks to complete the set and the limit of one card per toy you will have to eat a lot of McDonalds burgers over the next month. So get munching!
